Monday's meeting at the Moose Lodge was a great
success. Over 80 residents attended. The support for locating
the Material Recovery Facility and Transfer Station in an Industrial rather than
a Residential area was overwhelming. The group consensus was that there is no
valid reason why all the trash generated in the City of Santa Clarita and
surrounding areas need to be shipped in and out of residential areas of Canyon
Country. Look for an article in the Signal about this meeting.
If you missed Monday's meeting you are not out of
luck. A follow-up meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 26 in the Friendly
Valley Auditorium at 7PM, located at 19345 Avenue of the Oaks, Newhall (West of
Sierra Highway on Friendly Valley Parkway).
